Some projects are special. Because they are home. Because they carry responsibility. For the city of Bocholt, we were allowed to implement exactly that: a visual appearance that makes origin visible and future possible.
The name Bocholt goes back to the Middle High German word "Buchholz" – a place by the beeches. No coincidence then that the beech has always been a central element in the historical city coat of arms. Our task: to develop a strong, modern brand from this symbol.

A design system for a city with attitude.
How do you translate origin into attitude – and administration into design? In an intensive brand workshop, we worked out the core of the brand together with the city of Bocholt: clear, binding, modern – with a deep reference to history.
On this basis, a comprehensive design system was created that meets the requirements of a complex city administration: from letterheads to vehicle lettering to digital external presentation.
The Design Manual serves as a central steering instrument: from the letterhead to city signage to merchandise, fire department and digital channels. Everything is coordinated – and yet remains independent.
